Head to new gastro grill Graze to see if they can crack seafood

To all those people out there who go to steakhouses but don’t like steak, what are you doing with your lives? Okay, maybe that’s a bit harsh. We’re aware of peer pressure and the concept of keeping the other half happy, so we acknowledge you might find yourself in a meat-lover’s haven and panic about what to order. Well, panic no more, as Graze has something for you.

Described as a “gastro grill”, the menu, admittedly, is heavy on the meat dishes, but there is also an impressive selection of sides (or sharing plates as they’re described here) that focus mainly on vegetables, and a promising section for seafood.

Choose from halibut, lobster, prawns, salmon, red snapper, mahi mahi or sea bass (pictured) and then pick how you’d like it prepared. From the options, we’re focusing on the French bisque style, but there is also a spicy Latin version and Mediterranean choice, too.

The white fish takes on the fragrant flavours of the bisque perfectly, with the clams offering a hint of sweetness to counter the rich garlicky, creamy sauce.

It’s about as good a combination as you can get, and proves that Graze’s Mexican chef Juan Pablo Dominges knows his way around seafood as well as the more prominent meat dishes on his menu.

So, if you’re one of the zany few who don’t like steak but end up eating in a grill restaurant, next time head to Graze. It has plenty to please everyone.
