Dish of the week: Demoiselle by Galvin

Try the crab, chilli and coriander tagliolini at Demoiselle by Galvin

Here at Time Out Dubai our ears prick up when we hear about a Michelin-starred chef setting up camp in the city.

Demoiselle by Galvin comes from not one, but two Michelin-starred chefs in the form of brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin.

Located at City Walk, this is the sister restaurant of Galvin Demoiselle, which is housed in one of the world’s most iconic department stores − Harrods in London.

It’s the brothers’ 11th restaurant, their first venture outside of the UK and it’s headed up by the brothers’ protégé, executive chef Luigi Vespero.

“With a love of shopping and celebrating over good food with family and friends, Dubai is the ideal market for Demoiselle by Galvin, and our first international opportunity to share our passion for classic cuisine and service,” says Chris Galvin.

The menu boasts a blend of “French cuisine and English charm”. And it translates over here, with dishes including pea and mint soup, a stunning lobster fishcake, black truffle arancini and goat’s cheese risotto, replicated − with some slight twists − from the London menu.

The dish we’re most interested in, though, is the crab, chilli and coriander tagliolini. Famous for their crab dishes, this one from the Galvin brothers is fresh and light, with a delicate warmth coming from the chilli. It’s the perfect main course day or night. “Fine food, from London, with love”, as they say.

We couldn’t agree more.
