As restaurants go, Burger & Lobster isn’t a tricky concept. In fact, it’s very simple, as the name suggests.
Of course, over time, things are ramped up a notch, as a three-item menu nowadays would most likely draw gasps of disbelief from the city’s diners (unlike when it all kicked off as just a burger, a lobster or a lobster roll and not a physical menu in sight).
At the Dubai outpost, in DIFC, we’ve already seen a variety of burgers on the B&L list (with toppings ranging from the utterly indulgent foie gras to the playfully named Hot Mama with lashings of spicy sauce), as well as three types of lobster roll (The Original, we believe, still being the best, but the avocado California version coming in a close second).
And let’s not forget “The Beast” – the ultimate burger and lobster combo.
But now, to spice things up even further (ahem), the good folk over at B&L have introduced a curry.
Fret not, it’s not totally off piste. In fact the addition of a lobster tikka seems like a very good one. The dish “boasts a combination of feisty and fiery flavours”, the team say.
The curry sauce is packed with ginger, garlic, coriander, cumin, fresh tomatoes and more, making this a creamy, yet punchy dish that’s ideal if doing battle with a whole grilled lobster isn’t your thing.
Frankly, it just makes what was already a difficult decision even tougher, we’d say.
