New Restaurant: Miss Tess

We check out the street food menu at new Asian spot Miss Tess

Asian street food is all the rage in the city right now. First we had Mr Miyagi’s – the hottest new opening in Media City for quite some time – and now hot on its heels is Miss Tess.

This exciting new Asian eatery opened on Thursday September 28 and promises a range of authentic and delicious Asian street food.

Meals will be served in a “surprising and delighting fashion”, say the team behind Miss Tess, and diners will be “surrounded by eclectic interiors that will transport them to the bustling street markets of Asia”, which, judging by the brightly coloured, funky furnishings, sounds about right.

Dishes at the new restaurant will be inspired by flavours from Korea, Thailand, China, Vietnam and Japan.

Dishes include authentic Korean barbecue, sushi, noodles and a range of fresh and spicy soups. There will also be a variety of interactive cooking stations whipping up a whole host of street food faves.

We can rarely resist a good pad Thai noodles here at Time Out Dubai, and Miss Tess’ version, pictured, looks pretty decent to us. Prepared the traditional way, it comes with rice noodles and large, juicy shrimp.

The restaurant aims to provide traditional food with “theatrical performance” (think people dressed up as the Mario Bros, running around the room) and promises to be “simple and authentic, bold and affordable”. So with that in mind, it sounds like Miss Tess should be on your “to eat” list for the near future.
