New Restaurant: Galvin Dubai

We check out the menu at the newly opened Galvin Dubai in City Walk

City Walk is one of the most rapidly growing areas on Dubai’s dining scene, and the latest exciting new arrival is from Michelin-starred brothers Chris and Jeff Galvin.

Galvin Dubai opened its doors this month, on Sunday October 1, and is only the second restaurant outside of the UK for the culinary brothers, the first being Demoiselle by Galvin, also at City Walk. Here at Time Out Dubai we love the modern dishes that are on offer at Demoiselle, so we’re expecting great things of this new venture.

Galvin Dubai introduces “the best of British served with Mediterranean flair”, say the team behind it.

Dishes have influences from Italy, the South of France and Northern Africa, and are designed to be “innovative yet accessible” takes on classic Mediterranean Basin flavours.

This tagine of lamb shank with couscous, confit lemon and harissa sauce, is a nod to the restaurant’s Middle Eastern home, and we love the sound of the tender meat and fruity flavours.

The venue promises laid-back glamour that aims to “fuse a vibrant restaurant and bar area that encapsulates the spirit and elegance of all Galvin Restaurants”.

It’s the third eatery to open in The Square, the new licensed area of City Walk, coming hot on the heels of Toro & Ko – a Barcelona-style tapas bar – and Peruvian restaurant LIMA. Judging by the big names behind all three locations, The Square should be firmly on your culinary radar.
