As the old adage goes, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”. However, we’re certain that the recent menu revamp at the home of the best pub grub in the city can only be a good thing.
The Eloquent Elephant is a firm gastropub favourite of ours here at Time Out Dubai – so much so that we named it winner of the Pub Food of the Year category at this year’s Restaurant Awards.
And items on the new menu sound a treat. Dishes include burrata with heirloom tomatoes, strawberries and figs, king crab salad with avocado, roasted pepper and herbs, pan-seared chicken breast with forest mushroom risotto and this pan-seared snapper with potatoes, kale, asparagus and lemon butter.
Staples including the Mighty Elephant Burger and The Eloquent bangers and mash, remain, however, so no panicking from regulars just yet.
“We don’t over-complicate dishes and simply allow the ingredients to shine for themselves,” chef Nigel Lobo tells Time Out Dubai.
“The Eloquent Elephant is a home away from home. We have regular guests and many of them drop by every day. So from time to time we like to upgrade the dishes to give our diners more choice and value. With the food scene changing in Dubai every month, we are in constant search of giving our guests the best experience. There’s something for everyone on the new menu.”
