Avocado and veganism – two things that have seen a massive rise in popularity in recent years. And where better to celebrate both than healthy eatery Comptoir 102?
The restaurant and store revealed a brand-new range of homemade dishes recently, all of which are wholesome and delicious, some of which are vegan and many of which boast the much-loved green fruit.
A highlight in the latter category is this Avo’Club. Made up of sliced avocado with miso, it’s layered on cashew cream that is smothered on homemade toast. Finally it’s topped with two poached eggs. And it’s not just for brekkie either, as those good folk at Comptoir 102 know that any avo fan’s cravings go on further than midday.
Meanwhile, in the vegan camp come new dishes such as cream cheese crostini – don’t jump to conclusions yet – where homemade bread is topped with vegan cashew cream cheese and cucumber, served with a rocket salad. The Vegan Bowl is made up of quinoa, red cabbage, Brussels sprouts, carrot, red radish slices and spring onions, while a vegan nut cheese plate features homemade cheeses.
And, as the pièce de la resistance, the café is also serving up vegan ice cream in thyme, mint, matcha or black sesame.
“Comptoir 102 is the first and only place in Dubai to have homemade vegan ice cream,” says the team. “And the cherry on the cake is that there’s absolutely no sugar in those treats.”
Who are we to argue with that?
