Celebrate the Festive Season at Il Borro Tuscan Bistro Dubai

Il Borro Tuscan Bistro Dubai has been making waves since opening in early 2017 in Dubai. So where better to spend New Year’s than at somewhere extra special?

During its first festive season, the Italian restaurant is laying out a series of unique and exciting events, suitable for families and friends.

The restaurant itself has history going back 1,000 years. The estate of the same name in Tuscany has roots going back to Roman times, when it was used as a lookout on the Roman road Cassia. Milanese nobleman Marchese Borro Borri bought the property in 1254 and the Il Borro legacy began. Fashion magnate Ferruccio Ferragamo fell in love with the estate in 1985, buying it in 1993 when he began restoring it to its former glory.

The Dubai outpost of Il Borro is supplied by the original, receiving organic honey, oil, grapes and vegetables from its farms.

On New Year’s Eve, savour a meal whipped up by the expert Chefs of Il Borro Dubai, Maurizio Bosetti and Fulvio Opalio, and enjoy an Italian take on the festive traditions.

If you celebrate New Year’s Eve at Il Borro Dubai you’re sure to have a memorable night. The team aims to throw a celebration that will transport all guests to the Il Borro origins, back to Medieval and Renaissance age. L’Incanto Toscano, this is the name of the party, promises a special night of elegance and bespoke entertainment straight from the heart of Italy.

The festivities will kick off at 8pm, while oysters and sparkling Italian grape will be served at 8.30pm. Then guests will enjoy dishes from the à la carte menu. From 9pm, prepare to be entertained by live shows and performances, including music from a four-piece Italian roaming band, who will be playing classic and modern music. The special touch of the night, however, is a theatrical performance by five professional Italian actors, who will put on some comedic and theatrical Tuscan scenes. Then it’s time to ring in the New Year, before rounding the evening off with a traditional Italian dessert at 12.15am.

Meanwhile, if you’re after a late Christmas present, or a New Year’s gift, then Il Borro Dubai has the perfect present – the Tuscan hamper. This bespoke gift is ideal for either friends or family and is packed full of a selection of traditional Italian goodies. There’s Il Borro’s home-grown extra virgin olive oil, handmade strozzapreti pasta, cantucci (typical Tuscan cookies), traditional panettone and freshly-baked Tuscan bread. The hampers come in at Dhs360, and you can place your orders until Saturday January 6 2018, so one to note for any January birthdays, too.

If you’re a fan of al fresco dining then book a spot on Il Borro’s terrace, which has been recently renovated to allow for dining outside. The terrace can seat up to 45 people and comprises a mix of comfy sofas and tables. Sit back and enjoy your meal, complemented by the gentle breeze from the water and views over the turtle lagoon at Jumeirah Al Naseem.

The terrace is surrounded by bushy olive trees, imported straight from Italy, and is the perfect setting to enjoy an Italian aperitivo, a sunny lunch, an intimate dinner or any private celebration.

The olive trees around the restaurant are decked out with festive lights, highlighting the chic, Italian interiors that have been designed by Italian architects.

Il Borro Tuscan Bistro has everything you’ll need for a special celebration.
