SHORTLISTED: Fish Beach Taverna

One of the prettiest outdoor settings you can find, with twinkling fairy lights, white washed furnishings and a beachside setting. Dishes can be a bit hit or miss though.

A cool, upmarket spot with views over Madinat Jumeirah. Contemporary British dishes served with flair.

SHORTLISTED: La Petite Maison

A buzzing, beautiful restaurant nestled in the heart of DIFC, offering a Gallic vibe and serving some excellent Niçoise fare.

You get there by boat, which is always a good thing, right? The food is excellent too – always up there with the best in the city. Plus the outside terrace is an excellent spot to watch the abras sail past.

This huge (and impressive) space comes alive later in the evening. The food, by former Zuma chef Reif Othman, is stunning, and it landed our 2017 Restaurant of the Year for that reason.

This high-end Turkish spot from celebrated chef Colin Clague has some excellent traditional dishes (don’t miss the pide) and stunning views from a pretty terrace across Dubai Marina.
