There’s no shortage of fresh fish in Dubai, given our base by the sea. However, The Fish House, in the InterContinental Dubai Festival City, is a welcome addition to the seafood scene, especially given its charming spot along Dubai Festival City’s waterfront.
And the restaurant boasts fresh dishes based on local heritage.“Over the past century, fishing and pearl diving have been at the heart of Emirati life, with the Gulf playing home to a wide variety of fish,” says James Koratzopoulos of InterContinental Dubai Festival City. “We’re the proud recipient of this daily bounty and are extremely excited to be able to share this boat-to-table dining experience.”
There’s an à la carte menu, complete with dishes including old-fashioned fisherman’s stew (Dhs65), lobster linguine (Dhs165) and The Fish House fish and chips (Dhs85). There’s also a range of The Fish House Towers for Two (think seafood piled high).
Dishes are cooked up by Italian head chef Matteo Guerra, who tells Time Out Dubai he loves this sumac halibut dish.
“This is one of my lunchtime favourites, especially in the warmer months,” he says. “Its light, full of flavour and healthy, too.Enjoy it with our harissa and spring onion potato salad, while sitting on the terrace.”
On top of the regular menu, there’s the option to choose your own catch from the fish market-style ice bar, and have it cooked the way you like – from pan-fried to poached or barbecued, so whatever your taste, you’ll be covered. We’ll catch you there.
