There’s nothing Dubai loves more than a spot of ceviche (except, possibly, a cheese manakish) and now there’s a brand-new selection to prep those taste buds for.
Asia de Cuba has opened at The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi Beach Resort & Marina, replacing China Grill, and here at Time Out Dubai we have high expectations.
The Chino Latino restaurant already has an outpost in Abu Dhabi that is hugely popular, so much so that it was crowned Bar of the Year 2017 and Best Lounge Bar 2017 by Time Out Abu Dhabi – so get ready for Latin beats alongside your meal.
The menu, from Cuban-born executive chef Luis Pous, is designed to be shared, and dishes include Asia de Cuba signatures such as tunapica tartare with crispy wontons and avocado ceviche, “Ropa Vieja” spring rolls with braised beef short rib, rocoto sweet and sour sauce, shrimp churros with sesame and coconut curry and roasted Peking duck with a chilli herb salad.
The ceviche bar’s standouts include shrimp with ají panca, horseradish cream and lime or tuna with Asian pear, orange and seared foie gras. There’s also this salmon ceviche, cured with coconut, passion fruit, cucumber and chilli mignonette.
With trendy décor, a terrace promising to take diners on a “journey of Latin wanderlust”, a range of traditional Latin American mixed drinks and live music, it’s time to salsa your way to the dinner table.
