From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009Like us, you may have noticed the new restaurant next to LuLu in Bur Dubai, the one that looks shinier than a film star’s smile. Alas, the gleaming paint job hasn’t yet translated into a bustling trade.
With a name like Foodworld, you’d be likely to put your money on the venue being one of those multi-cuisine restaurants, and experience suggests that such a broad variety of options doesn’t always wager well.
So, with most of the staff being Indian, plump for the Indian menu instead of the Chinese or Arabic alternatives. If you’re trying to rid yourself of the Dubai stone, you might want to try some of the Bite Rite-approved recommendations, including the option to order brown rice.
The roasted poppadoms with pickle are a pleasant and peppery way to whet your appetite, but whether this hunger is left unfulfilled really depends on the dishes you order as they are consistently hit and miss.
Still, finish with kulfi and mini gulab jamun and it’ll end the meal on a good note. The best idea if you dine here is to stick to the Dhs42 buffet, so you won’t feel so shortchanged when you leave.
