Time Out Says
This unassuming, large, bright all-day-dining-style restaurant puts a buffet dinner on for hotel guests alongside the ordinary à la carte menu. Featuring cuisine predominantly from Japan, Thailand and China, that menu is vast and can be tricky to choose from. And that’s where the helpful staff come in. They know that list well and can expertly guide you through it, recommending some truly enjoyable dishes. Of the selection of maki, the spicy crab roll and prawn tempura stand out – the crunch and textures from the crispy soft-shell crab and tempura combined with flavoursome sauces and marinades are enough of a satisfying meal alone. But the restaurant also does Thai just as well. The pad Thai noodles are not to be missed – fresh and crisp, with noodles cooked with just the right amount of give, preventing the dish from descending into stodgy. Chinese is the weakest – the honey lemon chicken is the right amount of sweet and tang, but the sauce is a little gloopy. Ginger is a good all-rounder if you can’t decide on specific Asian cuisine. Prices are very reasonable and you won’t be disappointed when the food arrives.
