Habiba Al Nabulsi
Palestinian food and specialty Arabic sweets in Dubai
Time Out Says
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011You'd be forgiven for thinking this was just another one of the many Arabic joints in Deira. In fact, to some extent, it is – it's pretty unspectacular inside, there's not much that should upon sight, distinguish it from any other, but work your way past the busy bit-part kitchen section by the entrance and try ignore the bizarre, shoddy eating area and the even more disappointing soggy mains, and you'll be duly rewarded for your patience and warmed by what Al Nabulsi is all about: the sweets.
The service is a bit shoddy, they mean well but struggle with even the basics; if you can get through the painful language barrier, (try using your hands, a pen and a notepad), you'll discover enough varieties of desserts and sweets to satisfy the sweetest of teeth. So it's simple, don't waste your time with the scant chops of meat, the sorry salads, or trying to sit on the makeshift chair staring at a highly perched 14inch TV. Just go for one of the many brilliant sweets and cakes on offer. The basma and kanafa with kashta definitely do the redemptive trick and at that price, it's all the more amazing.
