Hyu Korean Restaurant

Time Out Says

Tucked away just off Oud Metha Road, from the outside Hyu Korean appears sombre, windowless – which is apt, given that this is exactly what awaits inside. Cold and austere though the interiors are, the eatery isn’t short on customers, though this more likely down to a lack of options for Korean cuisine in the neighbourhood and the chirpy, welcoming staff than, say, exceptional cuisine and value for money. Surroundings aside, the portions are at least generous, and the menu authentic.
Try warming soft dumplings and the hot plate, which are satisfying and tasty, if not the best Korean dishes in the city when it comes to quality. Unless you want to lose a filling or two, avoid the sticky fried chicken, which is crunchy bordering on rock-hard at times. Given that you’ll be forking out over the odds for your meal anyway, an expensive trip to the dentist could only add insult to injury.
