Il Ristorante Niko Romito
Time Out Says
For this is real Italian fine-dining, as you’d expect from a chef who presides over three Michelin-starred restaurants worldwide.
And it’s suitably fitting that this premium restaurant is found at the off-shore hotel resort by luxury jewellery brand Bvlgari. The whole experience feels first class, from the moment you arrive to the slick service from the friendly staff.
Upon taking your seat you’ll be presented with an amuse bouche, and a fresh loaf of bread.
And dishes are as inventive as they are expertly prepared.
While there’s a wonderful twist on a classic lasagne al forno (consisting of an incredibly rich and thick veal ragu, minimal lasagne sheets with a crispy top and an ever-so light accompanying white sauce), one of the most stand-out menu items is one that would naturally raise the eyebrow.
Smoked potato-stuffed ravioli, served with an octopus ragu – and it is absolutely superb, an unexpected medley of flavours that work fantastically.
Dishes aren’t cheap, as you’d imagine (the lasagne is Dhs110) but the quality is exceptional.
When discussing the city’s fine-dining scene, and the best Italian restaurants in town, Il Ristorante Niko Romito is up there.
