Jaipur

Indian restaurant with great views of Dubai Fountain

Time Out Says

Add this ‘hidden gem’ to your rotation, curry fans. When we say ‘hidden’, we do so only in part using rhetoric – finding the venue through Downtown construction sites will put your navigational skills to the test. And when we say ‘gem’, we do so with a qualifier. As long as you stick to tasty vegetable curries, you can expect a good meal as sauces are excellent, but meat dishes are let down by poor-quality produce. Cheap cuts of chicken packed with preservatives have an artificial, gelatinous consistency – a real disappointment since the well-marinated kebabs brought to the table in a mini tandoor pot have the potential to steal the show. Choose a table outside for excellent views of the Burj Khalifa and Dubai Fountains (the restaurant’s interior is elegant, but borders on sterile). A lovely location, reasonable prices and patient, attentive staff. Just sort out that chicken, Jaipur!
