Jashan Restaurant

Simple Indian dishes on Sheikh Zayed Road

Time Out Says

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2009
Once regarded as one of the best Indian restaurants in the city, Jashan now offers little to impress eager curry munchers.

The location, for a start, isn’t particularly pleasant – looking out onto Sheikh Zayed Road at ground level, with cars rocketing left and right and scaffolding all around is never a winning experience.

And the interior doesn’t do much to improve matters. Not that it’s actively unpleasant, but the dark, faintly sombre atmosphere doesn’t scream happy times. The food is workmanlike and mostly acceptable, save for the prawn skewers, which are chewy and… strange.

But, it’s not all bad – the staff are unanimously lovely and the service is prompt, but there is little reason to actively seek out Jashan, short of a car breakdown during a long, hungry journey.
