Jolie Boutique & Café

A café and flower shop combined

Time Out Says

Flowers and cakes are always a delightful combination, and at this spot in City Walk you’ll find both in abundance.

A former winner of our Best Café award, at Jolie fresh flowers line the walls and ceilings and fauna dominates.

This gorgeous café prides itself on serving up freshly prepared dishes, cakes, coffees and juices, each presented with single rose.

There are also no other standalone cafés in the city where you can grab a lobster thermidor salad as well as a huge bunch of roses either, and for that reason we love it.

The aforementioned thermidor salad is delivered with a tail of lobster, a little dishette of garlic butter and a mound of baby spinach. It’s dense, but bursting with flavour.

Meanwhile the avocado on toast with beetroot hummus is also a delightful take on the ubiquitous dish, although the bread could do with a little more toasting.

Seafood fettucine is packed with mussels, prawns and calamari, but it’s on the rich side.

Of course you must try the cakes, which are very moreish (shout out to the macaron) and wash them down with a lemon mint juice, it’s a delightfully refreshing (if not sugary) treat.

Jolie’s cute, kitsch and floral. If you like cake and roses, you’ll be happy, but the main dishes stand up for themeselves too.
