Kosebasi - Dubai
Eclectic decor, Turkish food and a Mediterranean vibe at JBR
Time Out Says
From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011The restaurants that line The Walk always seem perennially busy, no matter what kind of cuisine they serve, such is the popularity of the place itself, which can make it tough when looking for telltale signs as to which establishment may genuinely be full because of the food. Kosebasi serves a wide range of Turkish food, from salads to kebabs, and within seconds of being seated a man will arrive at your table presenting a huge tray of hot and cold mezze from the menu and ask you to make your selection. The sun-dried tomatoes with walnuts are a highlight here.
Served with piping hot bread, you’ll have to be quick to mop the mezze up, as the mains are likely to arrive before you finish. Although not miles away from the Lebanese fare on offer all over the Dubai and the marina, try a peynirli, a Turkish pizza somehow folded into a boat-like shape, or a mixed grill with succulent turkey, beef and lamb kebabs. You won’t be disappointed at Kosebasi, and at the speed it arrives you won’t be hungry either.
