Time Out Says
As with most places located on The Pointe, the Japanese eatery boasts beautiful views across the Arabian Gulf and overlooks the world-famous Atlantis The Palm. And unfortunately, as with most places here, it’s very quiet.
Spread over two floors with both indoor and outdoor seating, the setup is slick, stylish and contemporary with Japanese-inspired touches, of course.
The menu is made up of everything you want and expect from a Japanese restaurant – sushi, sashimi, teppanyaki, robata and the sort.
We opt for the fatty tuna tartare with caviar with seaweed crackers, the hamachi tiradito, which comes complimented with a chilli-garlic sauce and shavings of green apple and red onion, the salmon tataki –our favourite dish – and grilled black cod with a buttery-sweet ponzu sauce.
All the dishes come expertly presented and look very beautiful but lack any wow factor when it comes to taste – style over substance it seems.
And with prices being on par with some of the best places in the city it needs to up its game.
