La Vigna

Time Out Says

With a sprawling outside seating area, you can sit back and have the unlikely combination of shisha and tagliatelle at La Vigna. Choose to sit outside at night and your first problem will be seeing what you’re eating – unless, of course, you sit near the stage (there’s a live band three nights a week), where the disco lights will illuminate your meal in a myriad of flashing colours. The food, though, isn’t so exciting. The zuppa di pomodoro is a bland tomato soup, complete with soggy croutons and lumpy parmesan. Main courses fare slightly better, with the lasagne featuring tender pieces of minced chicken and turkey ham in a satisfying sauce, although some of the flavours, such as pepper, come in overbearing bursts. Still, service is prompt and efficient, and during the cooler months there are worse places to while away a few hours.
