Leopold's of London
Time Out Says
Occupying a prime spot on The Beach boardwalk, just along from the cinema, this laid-back café is especially popular at weekends for breakfast, when families and couples chatter away on the al fresco terrace enjoying the sunshine in winter.
And if you’re visiting for breakfast you’ve made a top choice, as there are loads of veggie-friendly options – both sweet and savoury from zesty pancakes with banana and Nutella, porridge with strawberry and vanilla compete, Tunisian eggs with chickpea and tomato sauce and eggs Florentine.
There are fewer vegan options, though the avocado toast – which is served with tomatoes and roasted mushrooms on protein bread – can be served without poached eggs. It’s a classic dish done well, and at Dhs44 isn’t as high-priced as others.
There are also a range of super-bowls. If you love açai, go for the version topped with bananas, berries and granola for a healthy treat. The textures and temperatures work brilliantly and it’s a huge portion that will keep you filled up.
Famous for its coffees you should absolutely order up a cuppa (which can be made with almond milk) and have a lazy morning on the terrace.
Later on in the day there are plenty of salads, as well as mini kale and quinoa sliders, veggie pasta dishes and pizzas, and it’s super-family friendly too.
For a chilled-out meal with the family this is a top option.
