Little Miss India
Time Out Says
While some Indian restaurants in the city have remained stagnant, this quirky, kitsch spot on at Fairmont The Palm has only improved in that time.
The restaurant has a charming outdoor terrace, where the centrepiece is a “Tribal Art Taxi” that marks the entrance to the restaurant – one of the heavily painted trucks frequently seen in south Asia.
And the dishes are just as vibrant. You can wave goodbye to lacklustre food – everything we taste is exceptional.
A special mention must go to the vegetarian dishes – including the paneer tikka starter, the bhutiyan dey kebab and dhingri bhutta palak – which leave us questioning why we bother being carnivores.
That is until we’re wooed back by the aromatic spices of the fish tikka masala and the supremely tender lamb rogan josh (which is a welcome turn up, considering the stringy meat we encountered in the bhuna gosht here on a previous visit).
Save room for dessert – even if just for the kulfi (Indian ice cream) – you won’t regret it.
The restaurant is busy inside and out, and with meals like this coming out of the kitchen, it’s no surprise why.
