Time Out Says
We’ve long waxed lyrical about the jalapeño locas, and you should absolutely try them. Al dente chillis stuffed full of rich, gooey melted cheese and rolled in crushed tortilla chips make for the ideal texture combination. They’re also utterly delicious, with a fiery kick.
All the usual suspects are on the classic Mexican menu – from enchiladas to burritos, tacos and fajitas. The latter are a hit and are not to be missed. Perfectly-spiced and super-tasty, load up the tortillas with as much of the filling as they can fit and get ready to get messy.
The star of the show, however, is the shrimp tostada salad. But don’t be put off, this isn’t just any salad with limp lettuce and a drizzle of sauce. Visually it’s impressive with heaps of tossed leaves spilling from a large tortilla bowl and it tastes just as good, slathered in fantastically tasty dressing and laced with guacamole, refried beans and sour cream. Huge, juicy grilled prawns top it off.
This place also specialises in Mexican mixed drinks, with a dedicated menu where you can choose which flavour you want and how you want it.
With live sports, regular deals and a cool, secluded setting, this place deserves to be back on your radar.
