Mazina

A quiet spot with vacant service and lifeless mains

Time Out Says

Mazina is a passable, if clumsily-staffed restaurant serving a limited menu of inoffensive fare from both the East and West. Upon entering the dining area, the whirr of extractor fans, lack of background music and abundance of empty counters make the place feel more akin to an extravagantly decorated food court, and despite a consistently meagre flow of customers, the service is agonisingly slow. Opt for the salad bar buffet to avoid being disappointed by the starters, and fill up, because when it comes to mains there’s little to look forward to. The duck breast is anaemic-looking, under-seasoned and unexciting, and having been left to rest too long, the Australian tenderloin will likely arrive tepid and somewhat shrivelled – an all-too-apt description for the establishment as a whole.
