Time Out Says
One of three concepts housed in new Jumeirah venue Bait Al Bahar is this sushi, shisha and mocktail hot spot, located on the top floor. The neatly uniform and startling white lounge, decorated minimally with soft white sofas and the odd touch of colour in vibrant tones looks fresh, cool and inviting. The menu features a wide selection of Japanese favourites like sushi and tempura, sharing plates such as sliders and fish fingers, and a very extensive list of mocktails. Sadly, the food can be a bit inconsistent. The mixed tempura selection of shrimp, fish and vegetable fritters can be soggy, but the tuna nigiri are much better, with nicely chewy, sweet rice, while the Mazology rolls, stuffed with prawn tempura and rolled in fine panko crumbs, are also enjoyable. The Japanese menu at Mazology Lounge is not perfect, but it’s a relaxing spot that’s nonetheless worth discovering.
