Time Out Says

Using an in-house smoker to produce an authentic, rich barbecue taste, the team at Mighty Quinn’s aren’t joking when they say “Your days of bad BBQ are over”.

The US-founded barbecue chain, which started out in New York, has several locations in America, as well as in Taiwan, the Philippines, and now two in Dubai – at The Dubai Mall, and at JBR.

We visit the latter when the urge for barbecue strikes.

The venue is spacious, fresh and stylish, with a smoky, woody smell that will have you hungry as soon as you enter. In cooler weather, sit outside to enjoy the passing bustle of The Walk at JBR.

Dishes can be a touch on the expensive side for the amount on the plate, especially for The Mighty Trio. However, the taste of the succulent and slowly-smoked beef brisket, coupled along with chicken drumsticks and lamb ribs rich in barbecue flavours, presents a glorious meaty feast that is sure to satisfy all meat-lovers.

Barbeque expert and chef Hugh Magnum has done an impressive job, as you can taste the amount of time the meats have been smoked and prepared.

Coming alongside the Mighty Trio is a portion of rice, packed with bits of beef. It makes for the perfect side dish that soaks up the flavours from your meat of choice.

Desserts don’t fare so well, although it’s the meat you’re really here for. A bread and butter pudding with s’mores isn’t the strong point, as the texture could use a little work. The sweetness of vanilla ice cream with roasted marshmallows helps to make up for it though.

When it comes to barbecued meats in JBR, this should be your prime destination.
