Breakfast buffet spot at the Monarch Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road

Time Out Says

From Time Out Dubai Eating Out 2011
The Monarch hosts culinary heavyweights like Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and Okku, so you would expect big things from their international spot Mizaan. Opening into the lobby, the space is friendly and the service near impeccable – the waiters have opinions about the food, which is refreshing. The fare, however, is unremarkable: a Caprese salad drowns in dressing, a lamb rack is nicely seasoned but quite dry, and a chocolate brownie lacks richness. This said, presentation is lovely – the brownie’s accompaniment of avocado ice cream is a fresh burst for the palette, and another dessert of New York-style trifle cheesecake is truly morish. Mizaan is the breakfast buffet spot in the hotel, but it is predominantly a la carte at night (unless they get a big enough booking). We say head there for a daytime business lunch, but avoid it if you’re seeking a special night out.
