Nelson’s Sports Bar
Time Out Says
On this occasion, that means we’re in Nelson’s, the new sports bar at the Radisson Blu Hotel Dubai Waterfront in Business Bay.
The venue has a generous happy hour, with a couple of pints options available, and lots of screens to watch sport.
When it comes to the food, we can’t look past that deal, though there’s plenty of other classic pub grub on offer. We’re talking about platters of pastry-wrapped and battered and breaded deep-fried and goodies, such as Scotch eggs, sausage rolls, onion rings and chicken lollipops. If it’s beige, it’s in, and that’s just the way we like it.
The burger is very good, with juicy meat sandwiched between a soft bun (that shows no signs of disintegrating under pressure) and toppings that add a bit of crunch and extra flavour. We’re big fans of it, but still prefer the fries that come with it. Actually, they’re half way between fries and good old-fashioned chips. We could have eaten double the amount we were given.
It’s not revolutionary, but Nelson’s does what it’s supposed to very well. Next time that platter has our names on it.
