Time Out Says
If there was an award for the longest menu in Dubai, then New Times might just be in with a shout. After taking your seat, you’ll be presented with a 60-plus page tome dedicated to some truly weird and wonderful Chinese cuisine. If you’re a fussy eater, then you may struggle to make it past the first page. Chicken feet with sauce, fried black fungus with yam, griddle cooked duck head… you’ll find it all here. But if you don’t fancy shocking your taste buds, there are also some safer options such as sweet and sour chicken, a variety of dumplings and Peking duck. It’s a miracle the restaurant has a kitchen big enough to accommodate all these ingredients, but everything served up tastes fresh and flavourful. And New Times doesn’t just boast a huge menu and kitchen, it’s also one of the largest restaurant’s you’ll dine in. From the vast reception area, to the high-ceilinged main dining room and private rooms upstairs, you won’t feel cramped here. One more surprise is the daily specials, with one dish from the menu offered half price every day; a great idea considering the seemingly never-ending number of dishes available. Seek it out if you want to try something out of the ordinary.
