Joining the already hugely popular ranks of Italian restaurant Il Borro and burger bar Black Tap , Jumeirah Al Naseem’s latest food opening brings yet more culinary diversity to the Madinat Jumeirah hotel in Dubai.
Katsuya by Starck, the Los Angeles sushi brand born of a partnership between chef Katsuya Uechi and design maestro Philippe Starck, is now up and running on the edges of the hotel’s Turtle Lagoon.
Described as an “upscale casual restaurant”, Katsuya serves up creative Japanese cooking, with dishes including crispy rice with spicy tuna, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeño, miso-marinated black cod and wagyu fillet with foie gras. And you can expect the bar’s expert mixologists to get just as creative.
Katsuya was previously open at The Dubai Mall, but diners missing those Dubai Fountain views need not fret too much – the new opening boasts a glimpse of the Arabian Gulf at the Burj Al Arab, plus outdoor seating. On cooler days, the restaurant’s floor-to-ceiling windows will give it an indoor-outdoor feel.
