Just when we all thought summer might get a bit quieter, Waka, the vibrant, fun and colourful Perivian-Nikkei fusion hotspot in Business Bay, has just launched a brand-new night brunch.
The intuitively-named “Late Brunch” kicks off on Friday June 30, taking place from 8.30pm to 11.30pm, and will run every Friday thereafter.
Latin American-Japanese cuisine isn’t exactly a brand-new trend to hit Dubai. There are plenty of joints out there and it’s something you’ve probably had before. But, as we reviewed recently, Waka does the Peruvian/Asian fusion with a sense of fun, flair and colour.
If the restaurant’s ceviche, tiraditos, maki rolls and anticuchos are anything to go by, Waka’s late brunch will be a welcome addition to the scene. It’s also one of a growing number of additions to the set menu brunch trend, which includes a bunch of sharing plates straight to the table, a ceviche station featuring sea bass, salmon or corn options, arroz con pollo, empanadas and a smoked avocado slant on guacamole, AKA “Wakamole” (groan).
Packages start from Dhs200 per person, with the house beverage package at Dhs350 and the premium beverage package at Dhs400.
From Dhs200 per person. Fri 8.30pm-11.30pm, ongoing. The Oberoi, Business Bay, www.waka.ae (04 444 1455).
