One of the most intriguing buildings along The Walk at JBR is set to open next week.

If you’ve strolled along The Walk any time in the past seven years, you can’t have missed the quirky building that sits near to the Sofitel JBR, surrounded by maze-like hedges and statues of horses, deer and flamingos.

After years of “meticulous building”, all has now been revealed, as the restaurant La Boheme Magic is ready to welcome its first diners.

Opening soon, the eatery, which is set on the top floor of the intriguing building, is only part of what awaits inside – the ground-floor venue is yet to be unveiled.

As suggested by the name, the new restaurant boasts a bohemian setting. A massive, brightly coloured lighting fixture is the showpiece of the dining room, alongside a large rotisserie grill, which holds promise for Dubai’s meat-loving masses.

The very grand location was a long time in the making, due to its intricate interiors, and the team has eagerly anticipating the launch.

“It was important to wait until the market was ready in the region,” Damien de Molder of La Boheme Magic tells Time Out. “A concept such as this has never been seen before in Dubai, and we feel now is the right time to unveil the mystery.”

The unlicensed location also has an outdoor terrace and shisha lounge, and will serve up a classic à la carte menu, with highlights expected to include lamb, veal and pigeon, as well as wagyu beef and short ribs. Desserts also look set to be a prominent feature, with a variety of delicious-sounding pastries promised.

Will it live up to the hyperbole? Stay close to Time Out to find out.
Open daily 11am-midnight. The Walk, JBR.
