A post-apocalyptic-themed food truck park is coming to town, with Last Exit set to open its fourth Dubai location.
Mad X, by Meraas-owned Last Exit, is opening on Thursday August 10 across the road from the existing Last Exit site on the Sheikh Zayed Road (E11) near Jebel Ali. As the name suggests, the park will have a distinctly futuristic, dystopian and post-apocalyptic theme – think Mad Max. Expect to see machine guns mounted atop monster trucks, as well as abandoned cars and staff wearing gas masks.
The whole place will be dedicated to the theme, with guests dining on oil drums (although there are grass picnic dining areas too, don’t worry). Plus, the majority of materials used to create the park are recycled – including recycled wood, scrap metal, wiring, cabling, pipes and cars.
The total site spans almost 500,000 square feet, and is more than three times the size of Last Exit E11 – which opened in July last year. There will be 11 different food trucks to choose from, with a number of Last Exit classics touted to be opening at Mad X, including Bao Bun, Hot Chix, Jaldi Jaldi, Pad Thai and Poco Loco.
There’s also a dystopian-looking video showing the construction of the site, to get you excited for its opening.
Last Exit has also confirmed on its website that a Last Exit designed for kids is coming soon – so watch this space. Meanwhile, another six Last Exit parks are due to open this year to take the total number of parks up to ten. There’s plenty of truck grub to look forward to – and if you’re in the food truck mood, why not check out Truckers Summer Warehouse at the Dubai World Trade Centre this summer?
