Pierchic launches “world’s poshest fish & chips”

As part of its summer-long celebration of seafood and shellfish, Pierchic has laid claim to having the world’s poshest fish and chips.

During “Shellebration”, the fine-dining specialist seafood restaurant at Al Qasr, Madinat Jumeirah, has been embarking on a European culinary adventure across the continent. So far the restaurant has covered Portugal (available until Saturday August 19), as well as Spain and Italy, each with a unique dish available for a fortnight. If you’re in the mood for some Portuguese cuisine, enjoy the cataplana de peixe y marisco – a classic dish featuring sautéed monkfish, clams, prawns and vegetables.

As of Sunday August 20, the Shellebration journey moves to England, with the presentation of possible the most iconic national dish – fish and chips.

Get your hands on a modern twist on the classic dish originating in 17th century England. Usually cooked using cod or haddock, Pierchic will be dishing up hops-battered turbot, a fish only found in Europe and known for its flavour and texture. The turbot will be served alongside a portion of triple-cooked Maris Piper potato chips (fries) and some gourmet mushy peas.

The dish will be priced at Dhs270 on the à la carte menu, while also being incorporated and available on the Chic Brunch menu, which is available on a Friday afternoon between 12.30pm and 3.30pm. Make sure you get your hands on the dish while it lasts between Sunday August 20 and Saturday September 2.

Shellebration will conclude with themed menus based on classic French and Belgian cuisines.
