There’s exciting news for fans of Jones the Grocer, as a brand-new outlet is opening up at Emirates Golf Club.
The popular Australian café, which is especially well-known for its breakfasts, is due to open later this year, although an exact date is yet to be confirmed.
The new venue will be licensed and will stand in the space previously occupied by Spike Bar. Spike Bar is to move to a new home on the first floor of the clubhouse.
Emirates Golf Club is undergoing a series of changes in its F&B outlets. Longstanding French fine dining restaurant Le Classique shut this summer after 29 years, while a second brand of Roseleaf Café opened at the end of May.
The new Jones the Grocer will boast indoor and outside dining, a lounge seating area, bar and a kids’ play area.
As well as the eat-in restaurant, there will be a “grab-and-go” counter to pick up a range of snacks, sandwiches and coffees, which is likely to please golfers.
And if you’re looking to do a spot of shopping, there will also be teas, coffees, cold meats, jams, chutneys and even a dedicated cheese room.
Jones the Grocer was set up in 1996 in Woollahra, Sydney and now has outlets across Australia, Cambodia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand. The chain already has five outlets in the city with the first opening in 2011 at Al Manara. There’s also a branch in the Dusit Thani Dubai on Sheikh Zayed Road, which does a popular cheese and grape night.
“We love the Jones the Grocer concept and after successful discussions with its team, we feel there is a great opportunity to create something special at Emirates Golf Club. We very much look forward to working together on this exciting joint venture,” says Corporate Food and Beverage Director Chef Max Grenard.
We’re sure this is set to be a popular new addition to the area and can’t wait to see it. Watch this space.
