For something a little different in Dubai this weekend, why not experience traditional Ethiopian dance?

Gursha Dubai, an authentic Ethiopian restaurant at Club Vista Mare on the Palm Jumeirah, has launched a brand-new show night to include food, dance and fun.

Taking place every Friday and Saturday night from 9pm to midnight, the cultural show will focus on the traditional Ethiopian dance, Eskista.

The aim is to “introduce and promote authentic cultural experiences of Ethiopia and Africa through its food, music, and culture,” say the team at Gursha.

Eskista is the traditional dance of Ethiopia performed by men and women, with a big emphasis on shoulder moments. The new show is specially choreographed for Gursha’s beachside atmosphere and location.

“We are very happy to announce that Gursha is hosting an exclusive cultural show event on weekends to give our customers a culinary experience that goes beyond food and beverage,” says managing partner and executive chef Beide Worku.

“Our aim is to offer new experiences to a diverse audience eager to experience and learn new things. We are hopeful Eskista Weekends will add to that.”

The Ethiopian eatery already hosts various weekly entertainment evenings such as a ladies’ night every Tuesday, all week happy hours, and Gursha Afro Thursdays with live DJ session, as well as recently hosting a one-off Kizomba night.

Fri-Sat 9pm-midnight. Gursha Dubai, Club Vista Mare, Palm Jumeirah (04 554 2665).
