New casual Canal-side café opens in Business Bay

Café Artois by Bridgewater offers barbecue food and a chilled-out vibe

The temperature’s on the decrease, and we can’t wait to get back to dining al fresco. And happily, there’s now a new Canal-side option, too.

Café Artois by Bridgewater Tavern is throwing open its doors this Sunday (October 1).

Here at Time Out Dubai we love the sports bar in the JW Marriott Marquis and can’t wait to see its new outdoor companion.

The new location promises a “relaxed, family-friendly” vibe, and will be “ideal for those seeking a chilled afternoon in the sun”.

Set right on by the relatively new Dubai Water Canal, the café affords fantastic views across the water and looks to be a top setting by day and night.

Peckish? There will be plenty of casual barbecue food, as well as a “huge” hops selection and a mix of picnic tables and comfortable lounge seating to top off a lazy, laid-back afternoon outside.

Dishes will include beef, chicken and seafood, all marinated in secret recipe barbecue sauces before being grilled outside.

Other tempting comfort food includes a pulled brisket sub with barbecue sauce, the signature Boss Burger, firecracker chicken salad and slow-braised beef brisket nuggets.

There will be live music too, as on select Saturdays, The Boxtones will perform a live acoustic set, along with acoustic rock ’n’ roll from Ghost Rockets.

The team behind the venue also promises affordable pricing for the dishes. We can’t wait to go.

Open Sun-Thu 4pm-2am, Fri-Sat noon-2am. Bridgewater Tavern, JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai, Business Bay (04 414 0000).
