Three new Dubai brunches to try this weekend

Picnics, parties and poolside brunching

Planning to spend your weekend outside? You’re in luck as we have three new al fresco brunches for you to try, from terrace parties, to picnics and poolside dining.

Iris Dubai
This chic Business Bay bar has relaunched its brunch for the winter season. Enjoy dining al fresco on the stunning terrace with views of the Burj Khalifa.

The brunch includes live stations serving tacos, with a raw bar, as well as barbecue stations and Mediterranean dishes.

There’s even a brand-new on-trend poke station.

Chill-out al fresco and enjoy the beats from the live DJ throughout the brunch and as the sun sets. And in even better news, new packages have been added (including house grape and hops).
Dhs140 (soft drinks), Dhs290 (house grape and hops), Dhs290 (premium beverage only), Dhs420 (premium beverages), Dhs520 (bubbly). Fri 1pm-5pm. The Oberoi, Dubai, Business Bay (056 951 1442).

The Picnic Pantry
Family-friendly brunch The Picnic Pantry has returned for the winter at the Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City.

The casual Friday offering takes over the lawns of the hotel every week from 12.30pm-4pm.

Enjoy the winter sun with a relaxed picnic-style brunch, with traditional benches, plenty of cushions to lounge on and umbrellas to shade from the sunshine. There’s even pool access to take a dip and cool off.

You can fill up your picnic baskets with a range of treats including smoked salmon bagels, gourmet salad jars filled with beetroot, broccoli and feta cheese; breads with spreads such as truffle-infused avocado cream and artisan cheeses and pickles and more.

There’s also a barbecue station serving up grilled king prawns, lamb chops, beef brisket and more.

For the little ones there’s a kids’ area with arts and crafts, face painting and more, and there’s live music and entertainment, too.

Plus in even better news, kids under 12 dine free. That’s Friday sorted.
Dhs245 (soft drinks), Dhs345 (house beverages), free (kids under 12). Fri 12.30pm-4pm. Crowne Plaza Dubai Festival City (04 701 2222).

Amalfi Restaurant
After a lazy Saturday brunch? Amalfi BBQ at Palazzo Versace Dubai offers up tasty barbecue dishes, as well as pool access for a chilled-out afternoon.

Running every Saturday from noon until 4pm, chefs at the poolside location will be serving up a range of dishes including watermelon and baby squid salad, Greek salad and guacamole. Dig into grills including lobster, prawns, lamb chops and waygu beef burgers for main courses, followed up with a selection of ice creams. There’s also music from resident DJ, DJ Niro.
