The brand-new Spike Bar at Emirates Golf Club officially opened today (Thursday November 23), and is sure to be popular with the Dubai golfing community.
The popular venue now sits on the upper floor of the clubhouse. It follows the arrival of jones the grocer, which opened earlier this month in the site of the previous Spike Bar.
Guaranteed to attract sports fans, it will show live footage of matches and events from around the world. There are 16 screens around Spike Bar, plus an extra-large three-metre screen outside, showing everything from golf to tennis, the English Premier League to American football.
Plus, not only does Spike Bar boast a range of post-round refreshments, there’s a new menu from Chef Hari Ghotra, too.
The UK-based chef is famed for her stylish Indian cooking, and the menu includes dishes such as bondas – South Indian style potato croquettes; squid pakora made with spring onions and a fennel-infused butter; paneer pakora; Indian scampi with masala chips; lamb pita toasties, chicken korma, kale and chickpea curry, lamb chop curry, paneer makhani and keema pie – ground lamb, peas and mushrooms cooked in a robust masala sauce. Prices range from Dhs55 to Dhs95.
“It has been a lot of fun and hard work creating a selection of dishes that truly represent the best of Indian cuisine,” says Chef Hari Ghotra. “Through my experiences working at Tamarind, one of the first Michelin-star Indian restaurants, and the recipes I’ve created on my website, we’ve brought some of the most popular dishes to the new menu. I really hope it excites and delights the taste buds.”
There will also be a range of pizzas, salads, chicken wings, ribs, burgers, sliders, pasta, fish and chips, steaks and more available to dig into.
As well as being open to the public, there’s a special members-only lounge area, too.
Open Sun-Thu 10am-1am; Fri-Sat 9am-1.30am. Emirates Golf Club, Emirates Hills (04 417 9999).
