Arrows and Sparrows opens new artisanal bakery

Expect raspberry shortcake and a Snickers cake from 112 Main St. Bakery

A brand-new artisanal bakery is opening up inside one of Dubai’s best loved cafés.

112 Main St. Bakery will be opening at Arrows and Sparrows in The Greens, serving up quirky, original and downright tempting sweet treats and baked goodies.

And it’s focussing on the sweet side of baking, promising brownies, cakes, shortbreads, smores, tarts, cupcakes and more.

You can expect treats like raspberry shortcake, pictured (Dhs26 per slice), banana hazelnut cake with Nutella cream cheese frosting (Dhs26 per slice), apple caramel cheesecake bars (Dhs22), baked Oreo cheesecake bars (Dhs22), gluten-free brownies (Dhs14) and chocolate walnut cookies for Dhs4.

“We really struggled with suppliers and consistency over the years when it came to pastries and cakes in our cafés” says Arrows and Sparrows co-founder Zee Alikhonov. “We’re both passionate bakers, and we place a fierce emphasis on freshness, so we thought - let’s just do it ourselves. The bakery has been in the works for almost two years now, so we’re incredibly excited to finally see if come to life.”

Initially, the store will be located inside Arrows and Sparrows, but plans are afoot to move the bakery to a standalone location when it gets its own store in early 2018.

For now, orders can be made by calling 04 558 8141, emailing order@112bakery.com or by visiting www.112bakery.com.

Just in time for Christmas, and all those friends you’re going to be having round.

Open daily 8am-10pm. Arrows and Sparrows, Emaar Business Park, The Greens, www.112bakery.com (04 558 8141).
