Brand-new Operation: Falafel opens at The Dubai Mall

Dig into hummus, falafel and shawarmas at the new location

We love a spot of Middle Eastern street food here at Time Out Dubai, so we’re thrilled that a brand-new branch of Operation: Falafel is now open at The Dubai Mall.

The popular Dubai-born eatery is billed as “pioneering authentic Arabian cuisine blending a rich history with an urban-contemporary finish”.

The new opening will be the tenth branch of the chain, with other locations including at The Beach, BoxPark and Kite Beach. There’s also a soon-to-open spot in Dubai Media City.

The restaurant aims to create an atmosphere similar to an authentic street marketplace, using fresh ingredients and traditional recipes.

According to the team, Operation: Falafel’s latest outlet will “showcase both all-time favourites for loyal fans together with an array of exciting new additions”.

Highlights from the menu include herbed and spiced chicken and beef shawarma, classic falafels (made with a “secret assortment” of herbs and spices) and, of course, heaps of hummus, foul, salads, sandwiches and more.

A special new addition to the menu is the traditional syrupy dessert kunafa, which will be solely available in two outlets – The Dubai Mall and The Beach.

The eatery is the third in as many weeks to announce an opening in the world’s largest shopping mall. Popular Japanese chain wagamama launches a brand-new flagship restaurant on Wednesday (January 31), while traditional Italian pasticceria Cova is also coming to the mall in February, so there’s plenty of places to refuel after a shopping trip.

We’ll see you at the mall.
