Dirty pancake challenge comes to Dubai

Monster pancake stack arrives at The Black Lion for Pancake Day

We’re always looking for any excuse to shovel our faces with delicious treats, so as Pancake Day comes rolling around we were delighted to find this monstrous delight has made its way into town.

For one day only, on Tuesday February 13, you can take the “Dirty Pancake Challenge” – a combination of pancakes, cream, fruit and good old choccy.

You’ll find it at The Black Lion, at The H Hotel on Sheikh Zayed Road, and it’s one heck of a big bite. Weighing in at a whopping 1,127 calories, the challenge will see you given ten minutes to completely clean a board consisting of five blooming great pancakes, plus banana, strawberry, blackberries, Oreos, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream and raspberry coulis, marshmallows.

This is exactly the sort of food our mum forbade us from eating when we were kids, but there’s no stopping us now. Just watch how the team from Time Out Dubai got on when two of them went head-to-head recently.

The challenge will set you back Dhs99, and if you can completely clean your plate within ten minutes, then you’ll get it for free. Can’t say fairer than that, can you?

Here’s exactly what you’re in for, and the calorie breakdown therein.

Pancakes – 85-110 calories each
Oreo – 45 calories
Cream – 70 calories
Chocolate sauce – 56 calories
