Lovers of all things fresh and healthy will be thrilled to hear there’s a brand-new Sophie’s Café in Barsha Heights.

The popular café was set up on the Palm in 2011, but has now moved and taken its healthy menu with it to its new home at the Metro Central Hotel, Barsha Heights.

The new family- and dog-friendly location promises “an all-day casual restaurant with impeccably friendly service”.

Especially popular for breakfasts, the new Sophie’s menu follows the format of the Palm one – with all-day breakfast dishes including homemade granola (Dhs32), bircher muesli (Dhs32) and banana-oat power pancakes (Dhs38).

There’s also a selection of avocado toast, from smoked salmon to heirloom tomato versions, starting at Dhs37.

There are more than 100 items on the rotational menu, which also includes salads and sandwiches. Sophie’s also boasts a range of cold pressed juices and smoothies in a range of flavours, as well as healthy treats such as Sophie’s zucchini brownie.

”Serving up a fantastic selection of wholesome and healthy dishes, everything at Sophie’s Café is created in-house from scratch with a particular focus on local, organic and whole foods,” says the team behind it.

“This brand-new space fuses a fresh, relaxed atmosphere with a deliciously healthy menu packed with fresh ingredients and creative combinations.”

Vegan or gluten-free? No worries. You’ll find a range of dishes available to suit every diet, as well as almond, coconut and soy milk options.

You can even bring your dog, thanks to a pet-friendly shaded garden that’s due to open soon.

That’s your weekend mornings sorted.
Open daily 7pm-9pm. Metro Central Hotel, Barsha Heights, www.sophiesme.ae (04 452 9529).
