Morimoto Dubai to open in Business Bay this month

New restaurant from Japanese Chef Masaharu Morimoto is coming soon

Foodies, get set to be blown away. Morimoto Dubai is opening at the Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai this month, and we can't wait.

It will be the first UAE venture for celebrity Chef Masaharu Morimoto, who’s famed globally as the star of Iron Chef and Iron Chef America. He first opened a restaurant in Japan in 1980, and now has more than 15 restaurants in some of the world’s most famous cities – from New York to Mumbia, Mexico City and Las Vegas – Dubai is joining a prestigious list.

And if you visit in the first few weeks of Morimoto Dubai opening you’re likely to catch sight of the chef himself, and try his dishes first-hand as he’ll be taking the helm in the kitchen. A date hasn't yet been confirmed, but it will be sometime in March.

The cool new restaurant will be set on the 23rd and 24th floor of the hotel in Business Bay and promises “a unique, stylish atmosphere”.

The team of chefs will be trained by chef Morimoto and have been hand-picked from his other restaurants around the globe. The menu will showcase the famous chef's distinct culinary style – fusing Western and Asian ingredients with traditional Japanese cooking techniques.

Morimoto Dubai will have a seasonal menu, with an ever-changing seafood list. The team will source supplies from markets around the world, including from Tokyo’s famed Tsukiji and Fukuoka fish markets, so you can expect some exciting and super-fresh ingredients.

And in even better news there will be a 24-seat sushi counter and a live teppanyaki bar alongside the extensive menu of signature dishes, too.

“The venue’s expansive space boasts floor-to-ceiling windows, filling the space with natural light throughout the day and showcasing the breath-taking Dubai skyline at night,” says the team behind it. “Both levels feature spacious terraces, including two large terraces on the 23rd floor with dedicated bars and lounge seating with immaculate views of renowned Dubai landmarks.”

There are also private dining rooms with room for up to 22 guests, as well as one privately-accessed terraces for ten diners if you're after something more intimate. While if you’re looking for some inventive drinks, there will be a menu curated by 2017 International Bartender of the Year, Shingo Gokan.

With new openings BASTA!, Bleu Blanc and Poppy from US Michelin-starred chef David Myers, as well as BHAR in the hotel, the Renaissance Downtown Hotel, Dubai is fast becoming a hotspot for all things foodie.
