Tania's Teahouse opens in Dubai

It features candy-pink hues, marble tables and rose gold furniture

It’s pretty much universally agreed that you can’t beat a good cuppa, and nobody knows this better than owner of new Dubai tea-themed café Tania Lodi of Tania’s Teahouse.

The devoted tea enthusiast has just opened the venue in a two-storey villa near the Burj Al Arab.

The venue is awash in candy-pink hues, with marble tables, rose gold furniture and cute puns in framed pictures and on takeaway cups.

The menu also runs along with the pun theme, with beverages including Socie-tea Snob, Tea-tox and Don’t Chai This at Home – and all of the teas are blended by Lodi herself.

American Lodi, who has lived in the UAE for 13 years, told Time Out Dubai: “Tea brings people together – it's a universal concept, and in most cultures.

“I love how versatile it is - it can be a social activity but it's also a peaceful thing to have by yourself to unwind. For me, tea equals happiness, or coziness in a cup. It gives you an amazing feeling of "zenergy" where you feel super calm but also energized and ready for the day ahead.

“I love how many flavours and types you can have and how each type can have a different effect on you. Everyone can use a cup of positivi-tea!”

You can also pick up a cup of coffee with fashion-inspired barista art showcasing designer logos from the likes of Chanel, while the food menu is mostly healthy bites including chia bowls, as well as a load of cupcakes you fancy a treat.

There’s also workshops and mindfulness classes on the agenda and board games to mull over as you sip your tea.

And the best part – there’s even a gift shop with a load of tea-themed creations with everything from mugs to beauty products.

So make sure you take some spending money and have your phone at full charge to post some Insta snaps.
Open Sun-Wed. 10am-6pm; Thu-Sat 10am-6pm. Jumeirah Beach Road, near Umm Suqeim Park (04 324 0021).
