Think you can whip up a pretty mean Italian feast? Well dropping dried pasta into boiling water doesn’t count.
This Wednesday (April 25) roll up your sleeves and prepare to twiddle out some fresh pasta from scratch under the expert eye of Dayan Anthony, the head chef at Jones the Grocer. The Tagliatelle Master Class will teach amateur chefs the art of whipping up a fresh batch of stringy pasta at the Emirates Golf Club restaurant.
The session will start with a demonstration on the importance of picking the right ingredients, which can be enjoyed while getting stuck into a cheese or charcuterie platter.
Then it’s time to don your chef’s hat and get involved, preparing and rolling dough, cutting the pasta and making your own sauce using fresh and tasty ingredients.
Then it’s the moment of truth, where you will sit down and sample your culinary creations – and the feasting experience depends entirely on you.
Afterwards you can contemplate your dish over a tea or coffee on the terrace or in the air-conditioned café lounge, and hopefully you won’t be racking your brains over where it all went wrong.
Whether a success or a failure, everyone will get a Jones the Grocer apron, because we all know it’s the taking part that counts…
You’ll also get a stash of recipes to try at home, if you find that you’ve awoken your inner Gino D’Acampo. Buon Appetito!
