US celebrity chef Todd English will be opening a new restaurant in The Dubai Mall this summer.

The chef, who has a popular restaurant in Abu Dhabi – Todd English’s Olives – will be opening Todd English Food Hall in the coming months, believed to be around September.

The huge new space – which will span 12,000 sq ft – is to open in the new Fashion Avenue at The Dubai Mall.

It will be similar to The Todd English Food Hall, which is a popular location in The Plaza in New York.

The Todd English Food Hall will serve up freshly prepared and gourmet food and promises diverse food stations. The US branch has stations including a noodle and dumpling bar, pasta station, sushi bar, grill, pizza oven, cheese and charcuterie and an oyster bar. The new Dubai outlet will have 12 different food stations.

English opened his first restaurant in 1989 – Olives in Charlestown, Massachusetts, which has since closed. He went on to open branches in Las Vegas, the Bahamas, Mexico and Abu Dhabi.

He also has six branches of Figs, in theUS and Kuwait, as well as several other concepts including a restaurant on The Queen Mary 2.

As well as multiple restaurants he’s also appeared on several TV shows including Iron Chef America.

His branch of Todd English’s Olives is the current holder of Time Out Abu Dhabi’s Best European restaurant, so we’re expecting good things.

It will be one of several new openings in Fashion Avenue, including Italian restaurants Cova and GIA, trendy Japanese Katsuya By Stark, travel-inspired eatery Somewhere as well as Two at Symphony – a “sleek, modern café” housed in luxury fashion store Symphony.
