Revamp for Dubai’s The Meat Co

Souk Al Bahar branch of the steakhouse to get a new look for September

One of Dubai’s most established steakhouse brands, The Meat Co., is set to get a brand-new look as a result of a summer-long revamp project.

The Souk Al Bahar branch will undergo dramatic changes and reopen in September with a new logo, new look and a revamped menu. It’s the first outlet of the South African steakhouse chain to undergo the revamp (there’s another in Souk Madinat Jumeirah), with plans also afoot to relaunch the brand’s Abu Dhabi restaurant.

The new design will incorporate both indoor and outdoor dining areas (so far, so same), but with the addition of a brand-new outdoor lounge, plus a horse shoe-shaped bar indoors that will greet guests upon their arrival at the Downtown venue. This latest addition is part of efforts by the outlet to become a go-to for after-work socialising, pre- and post-dinner drinks and nibbles, and will feature a wider range of beverages to match.

“After 14 years of serving guests in the UAE, this new chapter for The Meat Co. will facilitate a long-held desire to take visitors on an even more personal dining experience. Our aim is to create an interactive journey representing a culinary evolution,” said Johnny Tomazos, CEO of Food Fund International, of the change, which is expected to take around 120 days.

“We are excited to reopen our doors after summer, coinciding with the introduction of an extensive new menu, featuring a range of freshly prepared dishes, [and] offer first-class service while retaining the restaurant’s original charm.”

Stay tuned to Time Out Dubai for early details of the restaurant’s reopening.

In the meantime, you can always still head to the Souk Madinat Jumeirah branch.
